Happy Birthday to my new blog. And Happy Birthday to my friend Shannon who is a beautiful light in this world. She is a mother, wife, sister, farmer, alchemist, dancer, teacher and priestess.
I have a passion for spreading light in the world and raising the vibration of everyone and everything around me. I am a natural teacher, although I refused to admit it at first. Surprising to me, I soon found I loved teaching very much. I am a Lightworker and I teach Kundalini Yoga and Awareness. Through my experience of awareness, I am finding that I am yearning to write. Again, what a surprise to me. Why is it that I don't see these things coming and then I go "Whoa, that's kinda cool. Yeah, I can handle that now". Maybe it would freak me out if I knew too much about what's ahead of me; or for that matter, what the heck I'm in the middle of. Honestly though, I don't always have such hesitation, many times I am so pleasantly surprised about my wonderful life (it's almost Christmas time:) but there are some big turns that just really take a leap of faith and I really don't see the change until I've made it. Thank goodness for my personal health anyway, that the changes have been more graceful in recent years. In the not too recent past I experienced major shake ups that were immensely traumatizing. And the only way to get through the trauma and not keep re-wounding myself and others was to find a thread of being PAINFULLY present with the terrible changing situation. And I mean terrible in every sense of the word, the experiences were often scary as all get out, and also huge lessons that seemed unfair to have to tackle.
Anyway, I get ahead of myself. For now I just wanted to say, "Yay! Happy Birthday"!

Call up the Resistance!

I think I am figuring this blog thing out, but I am a little stumped by it too. So please pardon my learning curve.
We all have heard the saying that "what we resist will persist." I am finding that it is especially poignant now because I am witnessing others close to me who are resisting different aspects of their lives. I am noticing that if they are resisting, and I am able to perceive their resistance, I am also having the tendency of resistance in me, either past, present or future. It's not much of a twist on the other as mirror theme. Basically, if I am noticing, than I also am able to relate to what it is that I notice. So I am the subject and the observer and the observed. I guess that's why perspective is the key. Can I notice or observe and not react but simply notice the subject and find what it is that I connect to about the energy?

Sounds like a quantum theory bit that makes the act of observing the key to the unique energy. Once we put our attention into a subject we have effectively changed the subject and it becomes again. I sense that we are in constant flux or change and that the act of becoming is always the point of creative spirit. And that when we are stagnant in the flux it can be uncomfortable until we are edged out again into becoming.

So there it is for me...becoming or resisting. I like the Anais Nin quote "And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom." It's often ment so much to me that she could describe this transitional stage. Her describing it for the rest of us to connect to helps me feel less uncomfortable about being uncomfortable. I may desire to become more, but I also know the resistance very well and there is a certain sentimental attachment to it.

The other thing I've noticed is that no one can tell exactly what it will take before someone chooses to let go of resistance and become. I don't even know for sure what it will take for my own leap of faith. I think that is what makes it so awe inspiring and sensational. When it will happen is the mystery. We may feel it coming or feel the tension or be aquainted with resistance, and then slowly or bursting we become. Sometimes it is such an unfolding that it takes years to look back and see where we have come from and who we are now. Today I look at myself and I wonder when is it coming, when will I look in the mirror and see a different quality of reflection? Maybe tommorrow or the next, but something is coming that I can no longer hold tight. Tony in Westside Story sings "The air is humming. And something great is coming. Who knows."
